Afimilk’s 60-point rotary an all-around win for Nofim Dairy Farm
June 19th, 2017
The Nofim dairy cooperative in northern Israel is a joint venture that came about when two well-known Israeli dairy farms on Kibbutz Gazit and Kibbutz Mishmar Ha’emek decided to merge. The venture, which involved consolidating the two farms (each with 400 cows) into a new dairy facility located at Kibbutz Gazit, was a complex undertaking that required careful planning.
Already familiar with Afimilk’s farm management solutions, the Gazit dairy farm recommended that Nofim go with a fully integrated, state-of-the-art Afimilk system at the new facility. Based on the requirements, an end-to-end solution was installed that combined an Afimilk 60-point rotary dairy system with the AfiFarm 5.2 herd management solution and Rotary Terminal, Afimilk MPC Milk Meter, AfiLab Milk Analyzer and Afimilk MCS (Real-Time Milk Classification Service).
Ideal for large-scale dairy farms such as Nofim, the robust and easy-to-manage Afimilk rotary dairy system supports milking operations 24/7/365, and enables the milking of up to a record 600 cows per hour. The wide-open entrance design encourages quick, efficient loading of the cows onto the milking platform, and the intuitive exit design makes it easy for them to leave. Plus, the herd manager can control the rotary speed so it meets the herd’s specific needs; and can use the AfiFarm5.2 management software to adjust the system according to each specific cow’s milk yield and milk quality.
Nofim also integrated the AfiFarm 5.2 Rotary Terminal, an intuitive touchscreen-based control pod that helps farm managers to stay on top of everything that happens inside the rotary parlor through statuses, alerts and actions.

Nofim is one of three locations in Israel where Afimilk recently installed its 60-point rotary solution. With this full rotary system, Nofim can reliably and efficiently operate the new dairy cooperative, and the cows are also more comfortable, which means they produce higher quality milk.
