AfiShepherd as a management system is committed to provide information to official bodies that are involved with livestock. In order to comply with these bodies it is essential to employ official identification means in the system. The possible ID devices are ear tags, boluses, and leg tags. Currently the AfiShepherd system complies with HDX tags due to their superior identification quality.

The identification solutions are varied and are suitable for different types of parlors side by side, rotary, per stall and entrance ID according to the requirements of the user.

The ID system complies with the ISO standards ISO-11784 and ISO-11785.
