Sort System

Since Sheep and Goat farms run large flocks of hundreds or thousands of animals, and most of the events are mass events, it's very helpful to have a tool with the option of grouping animals according to production level or the different procedures they have to go through. After ranking animals according to the level of production or days from last parturition, or any other parameter, there is an option to generate a report and design new groups of animals. Then the animal batch is sent to pass through the sorting gate and animals are sorted according to the planned treatment procedure.

Find individual or sick animals

A sort gate can be located near the milking parlor and sick, problematic or any other specific batch of animals can be sorted and treated by either the vet or another worker later.

Adding an AfiWeigh scale for animal weight recording

An important option for having animal body weight data during different physiological phases, is having a weigh scale integrated into the sorting system. All animals will walk through the sort gates as part of the usual daily routine and at the same time will be weighed. Data will be entered to the computer and will be used as an indicator of the animals’ energy balance status in relation to production.

Sorting system for lambs

During the fattening period lambs are supposed to make significant body weight gains. Periodic lamb weight recording will indicate if daily weight gain is according to expectations or not. A sort gate can be a useful tool for finding the lambs that are in the desired weight ranges for marketing or for monitoring others for prolonged fattening until they reach the desired weight.
