Add New Animals in AfiFarm

When a new animal arrives to the farm it is entered into AfiFarm as follows:

In the Shortcuts pane, click Data Entry.

In the dialog box, under Herd Movement, click Entry, then click Add.

In the Entry Animals dialog box, complete the following details, then click New:

Parameter	Description
Entry date	Displays the current date by default. Click the drop down arrow to select a new entry date to the farm.
Time	Displays the current time by default. Double click to edit the time.
Type of Entry	Click the drop-down arrow to select from one of the available options.
Entry document	Enter the type of documentation that accompanied the new animal (if any).
Origin	Select the farm/owner details from where the animal came. (More options can be added to this)
Responsible name	Add the name of the person entering the new animal to AfiFarm.

In the next screen, enter the following details:

Note: Yellow fields are mandatory, white fields are optional, gray fields are automatically calculated.

Note: We recommend adding as much detail as possible about each animal

Parameter	Description
Cow	Displays lowest available number by default, Click to type a new cow number.
Registration no.	Sets the country-specific registration number. Click to add a number.
Herdbook no.	Sets the herd book number, if required. Click to add a number.
Name	Sets the animal name. Click to add a name.
Birth date	Sets the animal date of birth, click the drop-down arrow to select a date.
Age (days)	Displays automatically once date of birth is added.
Sex	Sets the animal's sex. Click the drop-down arrow to select an option.
Grp.	Sets the group to which the animal is assigned. Click and type the group number.
Herd	Sets the herd number to which the animal is assigned. Click and type a number.
Tag	Sets the Afimilk tag number. Click and type the number.
Passive tag	Sets the passive tag number. Click the ellipse to open the dialog box with the passive tag parameters.
Breed	Records the animal's breed. Click the drop-down arrow to select an option.
Colour	Records the animal's color. Click the drop-down arrow to select an option.
Entry weight	Records the animal's weight. Click and type a value.
Entry price	Records the cost of the animal, for your record.
Entry comment	Records any comments. Click the drop-down arrow to select an option.
Old ID	Records the animal's old ID number if she received a new one.
Dam's no.	N/A
Sire's name	N/A
Type of Stall	N/A
Last Events
Calving date	Records her last calving date
Lact. no.	Records her current lactation number.
Type insem.	Records the insemination method.
Insem. date	Records the date of her last insemination.
Ins. no.	Records the number of types she was inseminated during the current lactation.
Inseminator's name	Records the name of the inseminate. Click the drop-down arrow to select an option.
Bull ID	Records the bull's ID. Click the ellipse to search and select the bull's ID.
Bull name	Records the bull's name. Click the ellipse to search and select the bull's name.
Pregnant	Sets the animal's current pregnancy status. Select the check box if she is diagnosed pregnant.
Weeks pregnant	Displays automatically.
Dry date	Sets the date she will be sent to dry.

Click one of the following options:

Save and close - to complete the procedure.
Save and new - to complete and add another animal.
