AfiLabs: Overview
AfiLab is an optional device in Afimilk parlors. AfiLabs work alongside Afimilk MPC Milk Meters. Besides being able to detect the presence of blood, it also measures the fat, protein, and lactose content in the milk of each cow at each milking session. These results are interpreted by AfiFarm to accurately detect and alert users to issues with cow health and nutrition.

Body Condition – includes reports that identify health issues in individual cows, such as those in ketosis or at risk of developing ketosis.

Nutrition – includes reports that provide alerts to nutritional deficits at the group level (i.e. Sub-Acute Ruminal Acidosis, Group Nutrition).

Blood Detection – when AfiLabs detect the presence of blood over a specified threshold, it enables the automatic removal of the cluster from the cow.

Maintenance and calibration – details the regular maintenance, including wash and calibration, that is required to ensure all AfiLab devices operate reliably.
