Replace the AfiLab Rubber Gasket

Rubber parts in the milking system are considered consumable parts. These need to be replaced periodically.

Replacement of the AfiLab 3 rubber gasket should be carried out annually at regular use and twice a year if the parlor is operating around the clock (if more than 25 cows are milked at each milking point at every milking session).

Before replacing the rubber parts, make sure you have the following replacement components from Afimilk:

AfiLab Internal Rubber Plug

Internal rubber plug. This is replaced during routine yearly maintenance procedures.

AfiLab 3 Plug Securing Assembly

This should be replaced only if the part is damaged.

To replace the rubber plug:

  1. Disconnect the AfiLab connection cable.

  2. Open and remove AfiLab top lid: Insert a standard flat head screwdriver into one of two designated slits in the top lid and disengage the lid. The top lid is easily removed allowing access to the rubber plug.

  1. Open the latches securing AfiLab plug.

  1. Remove the rubber plug securing mechanism and then remove the rubber plug from the chassis.

  1. Place the new rubber plug in place, return the securing assembly and lock the latches.

  2. Return AfiLab top and secure it.
