AfiSort gates are available in saloon, free flow and spoon separator configurations, and can be engineered to fit any size farm with multiple sort options, including two-way, three-way, single or multiple sort gate layouts. Regardless of configuration, AfiSort streamlines cow flow from the parlor, getting them where they need to be while lowering cow stress and increasing labor efficiency.
AfiSort operates from the data it receives – either from manual codes entered into the Milking Point Controller (MPC) or mobile app, or by data collected from the sensors on the farm.
Sensor data is analyzed in AfiFarm and transmitted to the ID controller, which then triggers the gate. AfiFarm can be directed to sort cows based on health events (mastitis, digestion, ketosis, fresh cows), fertility (insemination, abortions), routine tasks (hoof trimming, vaccinations) and managing groups.
On average, 10% of all animals in the herd require special attention on any given day. Finding them is essential for efficient farm management. AfiSort brings the cows to employees for treatment while improving cow comfort.
Without sort gates, headlocks are needed which have been shown to contribute to increased lameness and decreased milk yield. Combined, this means AfiSort helps dairies save time, cut costs, maintain employee compliance, boost cow comfort and maintain production.
