Autaki Trust Farm: 20 Years of Afimilk Innovation in New Zealand
Autaki Trust Farm in Pirongia, Waikato, has been using Afimilk technology for more than 20 years, making it one of New Zealand’s earliest adopters of precision dairy management. The 125-hectare farm first implemented Afimilk milk meters to gain individual cow production insights and has continuously expanded its technology stack over the years.
Today, the farm uses AfiCollar, AfiFarm, and Afi2Go Prime to monitor cow health, fertility, rumination, feeding behavior, and milk production in real time. Farm Manager Louis Vandenberg describes the system as a “game changer,” helping the team detect health issues earlier, identify cows in heat more accurately, reduce labour requirements, and make faster management decisions.
The technology has contributed to improved herd health, earlier mastitis detection, lower veterinary costs, and more efficient breeding management. By integrating multiple data sources into a single platform, Autaki Trust Farm demonstrates how precision dairy technology can improve productivity, animal welfare, and farm profitability.
